CCTV held an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's Return to China. They held a "Same Song: ITAT night" major concert at the top floor carpark of Hoi Wun Complex. Over 10 celebrities participated in this event and was attended by 1500 people.

Apart from Hong Kong Celebrities, there were also celebrities from Mainland China, Liza Wang, Gordan Lam, Alec Su, Gigi Leung, Miriam Yeung, Lui Fong, Andy Hui. TVB also sent out Raymond Lam, Shirley Yeung, Bernice Liu, Tracy Ip etc. The hosts for the night were Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, etc.

Andy Hui said that he is proud to be a chinese citizen. All the economic problems have been solved and Hong Kong is going through an economic boost. This is definitely the best year since Hong Kong's return to China. Raymond Lam said that he is not too familiar with the Chinese culture, but he is still extremely touched. He feels that Hong Kong's return to China has brought a lot of good things to Hong Kong both socially and economically. In addition, he feels that the Chinese consumer market is extremely huge and would attract many investors to invest in China. Even the celebrities are moving into the Chinese market.

TVB's bunch of "Low Class Army" gave a disappointing amd embarrassing performance. They lip-synced throughout the show. And when Eric Tsang interviewed them in mandarin, they were unable to give a good reply. Tracy Ip only gave a very short reply in english and then in mandarin. Bernice Liu did not even bother to reply in mandarin and asked if she can reply in english instead. Thankfully, TVB has Liza Wang as their saviour. Her appearance redeemed the faces of the Chinese citizens.

Will next month's Mother's Day concerts be the last Singapore sees of Hong Kong's Heavenly Queen Liza Wang?

In a press conference on Wednesday to promote her two upcoming shows at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Wang gave no indication that she's about to shun the Lion City.

But if it's left up to her, she could certainly do with a lighter schedule the next time she's in town.

"Over here, the rehearsals run from 9am to lunchtime, with only a 20-minute break in between," the 58-year-old entertainer said with mock exhaustion. "Back in Hong Kong, our rehearsals usually start in the afternoon. So, I get to sleep in the morning."

Even given some extra time off, there's no guarantee Wang would have had much rest during her latest stop here. After all, it has been a dozen years since her last full-length concert here and this time she has the added pressure of her first-time collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

Not that the 30-year-veteran of the international music scene isn't ready to get on with the show.

"I've performed with Hong Kong's Chinese Orchestra a number of times. So, there's the chemistry," she said. "While I have only rehearsed for two afternoons with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, they have been very professional. So, I have absolutely no worries."

Well, there was the small matter of a meal that didn't live up to her expectations.

"I ate fish head bee hoon and otah but I wonder why they weren't as good as before," she said with a laugh.

Still, even her hectic schedule and a bad dining experience couldn't dampen Wang's enthusiasm for Singapore, which she considers her ideal destination if she ever decides to call it a career and find a new country to call home.

"The air in Hong Kong is bad because of the smog and the many high-rise buildings," said the outspoken performer, who has been a delegate to the National People's Congress and still holds a number of public posts. "And while we're paying more attention to legislation in Hong Kong, it's still inadequate.

"But the legislation here is good, the place is clean and green, and you've got a great concert hall — the Singapore Conference Hall — to rehearse in."

Liza Wang's official fanclub held a big birthday bash for Ah Jie. Her birthday actually falls on the 28th of August, but they had to arrange for an earlier date to fit Liza's busy schedule. The party was held at the "New World Hotel's Grand Ballroom". The crowd of Liza fans occupied more than 30 tables. Recent rumours said that Liza Wang is one of ATV's main targets in ATV's plot to "attract" TVB's main artists. A magazine reported that Liza Wang has been offered $15 million if she decides to join ATV. Ah Jie, Liza Wang, attended a charity event yesterday "Senior Citizen's 8-hour hunger strike". The second series of travel programme "On the Road" draws to a close this Wednesday and the guests for this series will be sharing their innermost feelings and thoughts as they read out letters to their beloved on the programme. After hosting the CNY eve show, Liza Wang also hosted the CNY show on the 1st day of CNY. When Liza went forward to wish 6th Uncle (Sir Run Run Shaw) a happy new year, 6th Uncle wanted to kiss Liza's cheeks (as a normal chinese new year habit for 6th uncle). Liza's born in the year of the Pig. Therefore Liza would be 60 this year. Despite her age, Liza still managed to look as dashing and pretty as ever. She wore some Fei Chui jewelry along with a yellow based cheongsam with some pink and purple flowers. The huge pieces of Fei Chui managed to capture everyone's attention. Liza wore a pink cheongsam along with some huge blue diamonds on Chinese New Year day. With the blue diamonds, Liza managed to stand out in the whole show and is definitely the prettiest celebrity.

Nic Tse: Should be fair to Mr Law

Liza appeared with a white-feathered shawl wrapped around her shoulders. Although Liza will be turning 60 this year, but she is still as energetic as before. Liza discussed her 40-year-showbiz memories with the host of Artist's Life. CCTV has been preparing for Liza's interview for a few years. They even sent out a crew to HK to get the HK artists' wishes toward the "Big Sister" of the HK entertainment industry. The list of artists include Andy Lau, Alan Tam, Nicholas Tse plus a whole lot of other HK artists. Nicholas Tse's interview is the most interesting of all. This is because Nicholas Tse's sister is Liza's goddaughter, hence, his relationship with Liza is rather special. (actually Nicholas addresses Liza as his godmother although they didn't go through the proper ceremony like Jeniffer Tse). Nicholas expressed his deepest feelings in his pre-recorded clip, "I am a newly wedded man. I realized that life needs to be fair after tying the knot. Therefore, Liza should be fair towards Mr Law, she shouldn't make him wait for too long."

Liza: I'm afraid that I cannot manage to "Share our lives"

(Why don't the both of you set up a home of your own?) Liza replied, "Because of our age, and also because we have been single for a long time. Mr Law: Both of us suffered from the same illness

Everyone in the audience felt rather down when Mr Law said, "Both of us suffered from the same illness." Yes, Mr Law and Liza both suffered from Cancer. When it comes to cancer, Liza and Mr Law are definitely a couple that has gone through a lot. In the past, Liza suffered from thyroid cancer. Not long after recovering from the thyroid cancer, Liza discovered a tumor in one of her breasts. However, with Liza's positive attitude towards her illness, she managed to recover. As for Mr Law, he was diagnosed with 3rd stage Liver Cancer at the end of 2004. However, he didn't appear to be a man who almost lost his life to cancer. Liza said, "I am a very obedient patient. I trust my doctors with my heart. One must be positive when he discovers the illness. Don't give up. Personal effort is extremely important. Mr Law is also a positive person. Mr Law said to Liza, "In the past, I don't know what I want, I also don't know what is happiness. Now, I know. I must keep myself healthy. Previously, I gave up my feelings towards my family members. Now the feelings are back."

Liza had her first concert in China

Although Liza has held numerous concerts in Hong Kong, but she has yet to hold any in Mainland China. Liza performed a few songs on the set of "Artist's Life". Liza joked that this would be her first concert in China. With loud cheers and applause from the audience accompanying Liza, Liza performed her famous song "Love and Passion"《万水千山总是情》 and also her favourite song "My home county" 《我的祖国》. Liza Wang attended her Official Fan Club's 29th Anniversary. One of the kids even had the golden opportunity to give Liza a kiss, confirming Liza's attractiveness.

2007 would be Liza's 40th year in the Entertainment Industry. She would be holding concerts in September but her asia tour is scheduled to begin tomorrow. Liza would be holding 3 concerts in HK but if ticket sales are ideal she would consider to hold additional concerts. However, guests and themes are not confirmed yet. The concerts would be looked upon a celebration for her 40th year in showbiz.

(Anything new you would like to try out?) Most importantly, I would be to relive the 40 years. I have a lot of things on my mind that I would like to share. I would probably split it into a few parts. Singing oldies would be a must. Actually I have thought of retiring, but the Entertainment World is too happening and interesting, for example: new styles of acting. Therefore, I abandoned the thought.

Liza hopes that she would be healthy in the new year. She also hopes that her career would continue to be smooth.

Mr Law said that Zaza and himself would be touring Japan again this Chinese New Year. However, Mr Law added that he would not be proposing again this time.

Liza and Mr Law were guest performers for the Chinese Opera Gala that was held in Central HK. Liza also performed a scene from "Princess Chang Ping" with the current Director Wong Chi Hou. During the performance, Liza was filled with emotions, and at some point, Liza's eyes were filled with tears.

When asked why she had tears in her eyes, Liza said that she has always been very serious towards her profession. She also said that Director Wong had trouble with his performance. Liza added that it's not such a big a deal and that it's understandable as Director Wong is a businessman rather than a Chinese Opera Performer. Liza stressed that Director Wong's performance is rather good considering that he is not a professional.

Liza also revealed that she would be heading to Genting Malaysia on the 12th to hold a concert at the Arena of Stars on the 13th of Jan. Liza added that Mr Law would be her guest performer. (Would Mr Law charge less for being your guest performer?) Liza said: "Nope, he charges more than the others." Liza also mentioned that she recently taught Mr Law to sing "Wong Mui Tiu" and she hopes that they would be able to perform a "Wong Mui Tiu" duet at the concert. Liza praises Mr Law for having such in-born talent. Liza said that Mr Law would be accompanying one of her performance using his er-hu.

Mr Law added that Liza and himself would be heading to Hokkaido, Japan for a Chinese New Year holiday. During their last trip to Hokkaido, there were rumours saying that Mr Law would propose under the shades of the sakura trees. (Would you propose this time?) Mr Law immediately appeared to be rather restless and that the reporters are always asking the same question. (Why are you avoiding the question? Are you afraid that you might get Ah Jie angry?) Mr Law said: "No." Mr Law also added that Liza and himself are always at loggerheads but he would always let Liza win.

The four shows of "Golden Songs of Our Century" kicked off on Wednesday evening with a star-studded line-up including Liza Wang, Adam Cheng, Frances Yip, Suzanna Kwan, Ng Wai Kwok, Dave Wang, Annabel Lui, Fen Nei, Ron Ng, Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng. After the show, the performers cracked open the champagne backstage and when Raymond opened the bottle, he turned the bottle towards Fen Nei and sprayed her from head to toe with champagne. A rather embarrassed Raymond helped her to wipe it off, but avoided her sensitive regions. After the show, Liza immediately returned home to rest. When TVB executive Virginia Lok was asked whether Liza would be in the next three shows, she indicated that she has not received notice from Liza of withdrawl and praised her for her professionalism.

Liza Wang hosted a TVB variety dance show recently. However she didn't get to show off her dance moves as her knee injury hasn't healed completely. Liza has just finished filming and is currently resting. Yesterday, she was interviewed by Cha Siu Yan on her radio talk show. TVB Anni which is going to be held in November was one of the topics discussed in the show. Every year, one of the 8 hosts hosting the TVB anni would include Liza, Dodo Cheng and also Lydia Shum. However, Lydia who is recovering in the hospital might not be able to host the event this year. Ah Jie stated that it's hard to imagine a TVB anni without Lydia.

Ah Jie also mentioned that she's been swimming alot lately, and has also been receiving physiotherapy treatment, as she injured her knee earlier. She's treating swimming as a form of exercise. When asked how did she injure her knee, Liza clarified that she injured it during a Latin Dance dance session. Although the injury occured a few years ago, she still has to go for physiotherapy treatment twice a week and she also swims 3 times a week. Thankfully, her knee injury has shown some improvement, but there's still some pain when she wears high heels.

As for the TVB Anni celebration which will be held in November this year, there has been 8 important hosts in the past, and Liza, Dodo, Lydia are classified as "Never to be left out" hosts. However, Lydia might not be able to attend the anniversary this year. When asked whether Liza has visited Lydia in the hospital, Liza said, "Recently, I contacted Lydia after the Po Leong Guk show. Lydia only told me about her condition when she was getting better and I told her to rest well. All of a sudden, there was news of Lydia being admitted to the hospital. On the 10th of January 2006, Liza and Kar Ying went to China to play golf and on the way back to HK (about 4 pm), they encountered "robbers-on-wheels". Kar Ying was driving when they realized that they another car was following them from behind. The black car honked constantly, but as Liza's car was going at a reasonable speed and was not doing anything wrong, they ignored the car. However, the car kept tailgating them and attempted to stop Liza's car by trying to bypass it. Liza also had 2 other friends in the car, and one of them said that robbers-on-wheels strike really often on these roads and advised that they should never stop the car. One of Liza's friends also noticed that the car had a visible dent on its front and the license plate was covered by a red paper. The car chase lasted more than 5 minutes. Liza called the police immediately when they reached the toll booth and the car gave up drove away... However, it took the police 30 minutes to reach Liza.

After returning to HK, Liza mentioned that the robbers were very daring. They were very bold to attempt robbery under broad daylight! As there were similar cases in the past, Liza said that if they were lucky, the robbers would only ask for compensation for the dent in their car (the robbers would accuse that they caused the dent). However, if they were unlucky they would be robbed of all their belongings or they would even be kidnapped. When asked to identify the robber(s), Liza was unable to do so as the car had tinted glass. Liza was so terrifed by this incident that she had to take sleeping pills to help her sleep.

Liza said that in the past political meetings, "robbers-on-wheels" were often mentioned and discussed but Liza feels that not much action was taken to prevent it. She said that she would definitely bring up this matter during the next meeting. In the meantime, Liza urged the public to take extra care while driving in China. She suggested that everyone should remember the police's phone number so that they would be able to call someone when the urgency arises. Liza also mentioned that they should never stop the car, instead drive quickly towards the toll booth. Liza mentioned that she would inform Hacken Lee and a few other celebrities that often drive in China to take extra care while driving.

The lighting up ceremony and press conference was held yesterday, marking the start of TVB's 39th Anniversary celebrations at Tseung Kwan O's TVB City. Accompanied by Miss Hong Kong winner Aimee Chan, Sir Run Run Shaw was in high spirits as he took part in proceedings. With TVB Divas Liza Wang and Carol Cheng at his side, he lit up the stage and over a hundred artistes were present in an atmospheric occasion. Guest performers for the event were Leo Ku and Joey Yung.

At the main switch on, the front row of artistes were all female stars. On Liza Wang's side were Ada Choi, Melissa Ng, Sheren Tang, Niki Chow, Louisa So and Christine Ng. On Carol's side were Charmaine Sheh, Myolie Wu, Yoyo Mung, Bernice Liu, Linda Chung and Tavia Yeung. Bowie Lam and Roger Kwok were at the centre of the second row. Recently, Liza, Law Kar Ying and other HK celebrities headed to Germany to watch the world cup. However, Liza had to rush back to attend the Hong Kong's reunification with China ceremony on the 1st of July. Liza wore an elegant white cheongsam to the celebration. They spent 10 days in Europe. The World Cup is an occassion that happens once every four years and the celebrity football team will certainly not miss out. Yesterday the celebrity football team headed out to Germany to watch the World Cup. In total there were 40 people, including, Alan Tam, Eric Tsang, Nat Chan together with Cecilia Wong, Edmond Leung, Law Ka Ying, Liza, Wan Chi Keung and his dad, Shing Fui On and Cheung Siu Fai with his son.

The team will be in Germany for a week and during this time they will watch the Holland vs Argentina match. After watching the match the team will be heading to Holland and UK where they will have some friendly matches with the local Chinese teams. LKY says that earlier he was busy filming for ATV's new series he didnt have time to go travelling with Liza, but this time, for the World Cup, he asked for leave in advance. He was asked whether the long journey would affect his health. He says that before he was a little worried but he has taken a lot of rest and has brought his medication with him and says that his health is a lot better now. Liza was asked if she was worried about his health to which she replies that he knows himself.
